It is commonly known as "The White Album" as it has no graphics or text other than the band's name embossed in grey letters (and, on the early LP and CD releases, a serial number) on its plain white sleeve. The album was the first that The Beatles undertook following the death of their manager, Brian Epstein, and the first released by their own record label, Apple. It was recorded in October 1968 at Olympic Studios in London and released on Atlantic Records on 12 January 1969 in the US and 31 March 1969 in the UK. The album featured integral contributions from each of the group's four musicians and established Led Zeppelin's fusion of blues and rock. Led Zeppelin also created a large and devoted following for the band, with their take on the emerging heavy metal sound endearing them to a section of the counterculture on both sides of the Atlantic. Although the album initially received negative reviews, it was commercially very successful and has now come to be regarded in a much more positive light by critics. In 2003, the album was ranked number 29 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

Though Let It Be was the last album released before the band's dissolution in 1970, work on Abbey Road began in April 1969. Abbey Road was released on 26 September 1969 in the United Kingdom, and 1 October 1969 in the United States. It was produced and orchestrated by George Martin for Apple Records. Geoff Emerick was engineer, Alan Parsons was assistant engineer, and Tony Banks was tape operator. Abbey Road is widely regarded as one of The Beatles' most tightly constructed albums, although the band was barely operating as a functioning unit at the time. Rolling Stone placed it at number 14 on its list of "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time". In 2009, readers of the magazine also named Abbey ...

Echoes - 23:16 Meddle is the sixth studio album by English progressive rock group Pink Floyd. It was released in October 1971. The album was recorded at a series of locations around London, including Abbey Road Studios. With no material to work with and no clear idea of the album's direction, the band devised a series of novel experiments which eventually inspired the album's signature track, "Echoes". Although many of the group's later albums would be unified by a central theme with lyrics written mainly by Roger Waters, Meddle was a group effort with lyrical contributions from each member. Meddle was produced between the band's touring commitments, from January to August 1971. It was well-received by music critics upon its release, but despite being commercially successful in the United Kingdom, lackluster publicity on the part of their US label led to poor sales there.

Released as a double album on 30 November 1979, it was subsequently performed live with elaborate theatrical effects, and adapted into a feature film, Pink Floyd—The Wall. As with the band's previous three studio albums The Wall is a concept album, and deals largely with themes of abandonment and personal isolation. It was first conceived during the band's 1977 In the Flesh Tour, when bassist and lyricist Roger Waters's frustration with the spectators' perceived boorishness became so acute that he imagined building a wall between the performers and audience. The Bends was produced by John Leckie at EMI's studios in London, and engineered by Nigel Godrich, who would go on to produce all future albums by the band. Featuring five charting singles, the album also marked the beginning of a shift in aesthetics and themes for the band, with greater use of keyboards, and more abrasive guitar tracks balancing subtler ones. The introspective grunge-influenced style of Pablo Honey evolved toward more multilayered rock with cryptic lyrics and larger ideas, as the band and singer Thom Yorke reacted against the rigours of near-constant world tours. "Street Spirit (Fade Out)", the final single and last song on the album, became their first top five UK hit. The album was subject to greater critical acclaim than their debut Pablo Honey (1993), receiving an enthusiastic critical reaction, and it reached number four in the UK Albums Chart. However, it failed to build on the commercial success of their single "Creep" outside the United Kingdom, and it peaked on the American charts at ...

Rush-2112 (Full Album) 1976

so i dont keep getting a million questions about it i raised the pitch a tiny bit to get past the umg copyright restrictions. had no choice. 2112 (pronounced "twenty-one twelve") is the fourth studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released in 1976. The album features an eponymous seven-part suite written by Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, with lyrics written by Neil Peart telling a dystopian story set in the year 2112. The album is sometimes described as a concept album although the songs on the second side are unrelated to the plot of the suite. Rush repeated this arrangement on the 1978 album Hemispheres. 2112 is one of two Rush albums listed in 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die (the other being Moving Pictures). In 2006, a poll of Planet Rock listeners picked 2112 as the definitive Rush album. The Toronto dates of the 2112 tour were recorded and released as All The World's a Stage in September 1976 1.2112 (0:00-20:33) 2.A Passage To Bangkok (20:34-24:09) 3.The Twilight Zone (24:10-27:27) 4.Lessons (27:28-31:20) 5.Tears (31:21-34:53) 6.Something For Nothing (34:54-38:56)

A commercial success worldwide, Kid A went platinum in its first week of release in the UK. Despite the lack of an official single or music video as publicity, Kid A became the first Radiohead release to debut at number one in the US. This success was credited variously to a unique marketing campaign, the early Internet leak of the album, or anticipation after the band's 1997 album, OK Computer. Kid A was recorded in Paris, Copenhagen, Gloucestershire and Oxford with producer Nigel Godrich. The album's songwriting and recording were experimental for Radiohead, as the band replaced their earlier "anthemic" rock style with a more electronic sound. Influenced by Krautrock, jazz, and 20th century classical music, Radiohead abandoned their three-guitar line-up for a wider range of instruments on Kid A, using keyboards, the Ondes martenot, and, on certain compositions, strings and brass. Kid A also contains more minimal and abstract lyrics than the band's previous work. Singer Thom Yorke has said the album was not intended as "art ...

Nirvana - Nevermind (Classic Album)

There possibly isnt an album in history that is as genre defining as Nirvanas Nevermind. Released in 1991, it single-handedly was responsible for the birth of what became to be known as grunge and has gone on to sell millions. Nevermind was the second album from the Seattle trio and the first on the DGC label (its predecessor Bleech was released on the Sub Pop label). It was produced by Butch Vig (also the drummer for the band Garbage)and mixed by Andy Wallace. Nirvanas surviving members Krist Novoselic (bass) and Dave Grohl (drums) talk candidly about their past, the recording of Nevermind and about Kurt Cobain and the legacy that he has left behind. Also featured are exclusive interviews with the likes of Garry Gersh(A&R DGC Records), Butch Vig, Jonathan Ponneman and Nils Bernstein(Sub Pop Records), Thurston Moore(Sonic Youth), Jack Endino and many more. Produced by George Martin, Rubber Soul had been recorded in just over four weeks to make the Christmas market. Unlike the five albums that preceded it, Rubber Soul was the first Beatles album recorded during a specific period, the sessions not dashed off in between either tour dates or during filming projects. After this, every Beatles album would be made without the need to pay attention to other commitments, except for the production of short promotional films or principal photography and editing to Magical Mystery Tour. The album was described as a major artistic achievement, attaining widespread critical and commercial success, with reviewers taking note of The Beatles' developing musical vision. The original United Kingdom release shows the "soul" influence of the album's title. Track list changes to the United States release, including two acoustic songs held over from the previous UK album, Help!, gave the US ...

The Doors - Riders on the Storm (original album version) - Music Video

A video I made with the song "Riders on the Storm" by The Doors from their album "LA Woman" (1971). Lyrics: Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Into this house we're born Into this world we're thrown Like a dog without a bone And actor out on loan Riders on the storm There's a killer on the road His brain is squirmin' like a toad Take a long holiday Let your children play If ya give this man a ride Sweet family will die Killer on the road, yeah Girl ya gotta love your man Girl ya gotta love your man Take him by the hand Make him understand The world on you depends Our life will never end Gotta love your man, yeah Wow! Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Into this house we're born Into this world we're thrown Like a dog without a bone And actor out on loan Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Riders on the storm The Doors were an American rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, California by vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, drummer John Densmore, and guitarist Robby Krieger. They were considered a controversial band, due mostly to Morrison's cryptic lyrics and unpredictable stage persona. After Morrison's death on July 3, 1971, the remaining members continued as a threesome until disbanding in 1973. Despite a career that barely totaled eight years, The Doors still enjoy a huge cult following as well as status in the mainstream music industry as being hugely influential and original ...

Jefferson Airplane - Surrealistic Pillow [Full Album]

The Airplane's legendary and historic second album in it's entirety (probably my #1 favorite release of all-time and this is coming from a die-hard Black Sabbath, King Crimson & Amy Winehouse fan and of course the JA) ****************************************************************************************** TECHNICAL NOTE: The original 1966 RCA stereophonic mix is presented here, famously known for it's lush reverberation effect (the way I love it). Most of the reverb you hear was actually the result of the larger tracking rooms (with high ceilings) the group utilized at RCA studios as well as other factors like mic placement during the sessions. It was NOT artificially added after the initial sessions through processing as many fans or critics have speculated over the years. Though there are a small legion of listeners who do prefer the more upfront but drier sounding monaural mix. Unfortunately for me (mr. uploader mind you) this nearky kills the essence and vibe of the whole listening experience this LP is known for...just my two cents. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's time we walked away set me free I must move away leave you be Time's been good to us my friend Wait and see how it will end We come and go as we please...that's how it must be Here in Crystal Chandelier I'm home Too many days I've left unstoned If you doubt my happiness What full pleasure feels in the Sun Ah, don't you ...

The Tourist - 47:53 OK Computer is the third studio album by English alternative rock band Radiohead, released on 16 June 1997. Radiohead recorded the album in rural Oxfordshire and Bath, during 1996 and early 1997, with producer Nigel Godrich. Although most of the music is dominated by guitar, OK Computer's expansive sound and wide range of influences set it apart from many of the Britpop and alternative rock bands popular at the time, and laid the groundwork for Radiohead's later, more experimental work. While Radiohead do not consider OK Computer to be a concept album, its lyrics and visual artwork emphasise common themes such as consumerism, social disconnection, political stagnation, and modern malaise. OK Computer reached number-one on the UK Albums Chart and marked Radiohead's highest entry into the American market at the time, debuting at number 21 on the Billboard 200. The album expanded the band's worldwide popularity, and has been certified triple platinum in the UK and Canada, double platinum in the US and platinum in Australia. OK Computer received considerable acclaim at the time of its release, and is ...

Andreas Vollenweider - Album: Behind the Gardens

re upload Behind the Gardens is a studio album by New Age artist Andreas Vollenweider, released in 1981. It is almost entirely instrumental, and centers around Vollenweider on harp. While not literally Vollenweider's first album, "Behind the Gardens" is widely regarded as such because it was his breakthrough album, gaining him wide recognition. The earlier and more obscure "Eine Art Suite in XIII Teilen" (An Art Suite in 13 Parts), 1979, remains available chiefly online, while "Behind the Gardens" can still be readily found in music stores worldwide. The contemplative and moving second track, "Pyramid," is a favorite of fans and has become a concert staple, always garnering applause when the first harp notes are played. While the album originally stood on its own, in 1990 it and the two following albums (Caverna Magica and White Winds) were re-released as a two-CD set entitled "Trilogy," suggesting they collectively constituted a single musical entity. The full titles of the first two albums lend creedance to the suggestion that the three albums are thematically connected. The full title of the first album is "Behind the Gardens-Behind the Wall-Under the Tree..." The ellipsis at the end suggests a continuation. The full title of the next album is "Caverna Magica (...Under the Tree - In the Cave...)" The first ellipsis, followed by the repetition of "Under the Tree" from the first album title, clearly indicates a continuation. The second ellipsis suggests another ...

The Beatles-Revolver (Full Album) 1966

Revolver is the seventh studio album by the English rock band The Beatles, released on 5 August 1966 on the Parlophone label and produced by George Martin. Many of the tracks on Revolver are marked by an electric guitar-rock sound, in contrast with their previous LP, the folk rock inspired Rubber Soul (1965). In Britain, the fourteen tracks from Revolver were released to radio stations throughout July 1966, "building anticipation for what would clearly be a radical new phase in the group's recording career".[1] It reached number one on both the British chart and American chart and stayed at the top spot for seven weeks and six weeks, respectively. The album was remastered 9 September 2009 for the first time since its 1987 digital compact disc release. Placed at number 1 in the All-Time Top 1000 Albums and number 3 in the Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time, the album is often regarded as one of the greatest achievements in music history and one of The Beatles' greatest studio achievements.[2][3] 1.Taxman (0:00-2:39) 2.Eleanor Rigby (2:39-4:47) 3.I'm Only Sleeping (4:47-7:49) 4.Love You To (7:49-10:50) 5.Here,There And Everywhere (10:50-13:16) 6.Yellow Submarine (13:16-15:56) 7.She Said She Said (15:56-18:33) 8.Good Day Sunshine (18:33-20:43) 9.And Your Bird Can Sing (20:43-22:45) 10.For No One (22:45-24:47) 11.Doctor Robert (24:47-27:02) 12.I Want To Tell You (27:02-29:32) 13.Got To Get You Into My Life (29:32-32:03) 14.Tomorrow Never ...
