There has been a tragic train accident in Andhra Pradesh. The Hampi express, a passenger train coming from Hubli to Bangalore has collided with a goods train in Penneconda, Andhra Pradesh. Bridge collapses in Kentucky after being rammed by hulking freighter carrying space rocket parts Incredible images emerged of a hulking freighter wearing mangled pieces of a steel bridge on its bow after a collision in southwestern Kentucky Thursday night. Bangalore-bound Hampi Express collided with a stationary goods train at Penneconda station of Andhra Pradesh's Anantapur district early on Tuesday morning. The toll is likely to rise. According to initial reports coming in, Hampi Express overshot signal and hit the goods train. Two bogies of Hampi Express derailed after the collision. Several people are still trapped inside the mangled bogies of the train. Rescue operations are underway to rescue the trapped passengers. Gas cutters are being used to cut the mangled coaches. Anil Saxena, railway PRO, said that three coaches of Hampi Express have been damaged. While two of them are second class general bogies , the third is the luggage-cum-guard coach. The PRO claimed that all the passengers from the first coach have been rescued. The injured passengers have been rushed to nearby hospitals. Senior railway officials have reached the spot and are supervising the rescue operations.

The impact derailed two of the trains cars, shattered its windshield and left a large hole in the drivers side of the bus.
