To me, one of the most interesting vehicles of the second World War. The M26 truck, was a 12-ton 6x6 M26 tractor was powered by a Type 440 240bhp 6-cylinder gasoline engine. This variant featured a Browning .50 cal top-mount heavy MG, along with a fully armored cab, allowing limited crew protection.

Another O&A related cartoon I made in 2005, shortly after they were added to the whole XM platform. This is based off audio of a phone call in which Jim Norton goes on a rant at trucker Dragon Wagon. After another phone call a few shows later, Dragon Wagon pretty much reveals himself to be a total phony. Also, I didn't realize back then that the X and M are attached in the logo. I'm an a ss. This is part 2 of my Tamiya Dragon Wagon build. I decided not to do a full reproduction of the air brake piping as it won't all be visible on the finished model. Instead, I will be adding a simplfied version of it. Part 3 will show the semi-trailer build plus the simplified brake piping. Part 4 will show the burnt-out Sherman I'll be adding as a load, plus the weathering I'll be doing to the overall model.

This is part 1 of my Tamiya 40 ton Tank Transporter Dragon Wagon build. This is going to be a long build, so I am breaking it down into small 'chunks' for the video uploads. So far, I have done the major sub-assemblies, trimmed the seams on the real rubber tyres and assembled the wheels. I have also done the major surgery which was required on the engine housing cover. This needed to have raised lips around the top, with the outer grab rails higher than the inner one (according to pictures in the vehicle's reference manual, which I have obtained a copy of as part of my research). To achieve this, I needed to do some cutting and trimming to lower the top, so that it was flush with the bottom of the poorly moulded rims on the side pieces. I then cut some strips of plasticard to glue in place for the new rims around the top. Then I replaced the moulded inner grab rail, with a new one made from copper wire and tiny strips of plasticard! This is just the beginning of this build, I still have some major detailing work to do, eg I intend to make all the brake cables and air-hoses underneath the tractor and trailer! Like I said, this will be a long build!!

This is part 3 of my Dragon Wagon build. As you can see, the M26 Truck Tractor is now finished, with the trailer, burnt out Sherman, weathering and scenic base still to do. I've added a few shots of the build as a reminder, with the shots of the finished tractor unit showing some of the details I've added. Unfortunately, the pictures don't show the extensive modifications and extra details in the cab interior, but it does show the external details which were added...
