Cave Diving Eagle's Nest

Eagle's Nest is a deep cave in FL just north of Tampa. It used to be concidered the Mt. Everest of Cave dives to many technical divers. Its remote, over 300ft deep in areas and very unique! For more info and videos visit www.LiquidProductions.com

Florida Cave Diving off-beaten path. B-cave, 1/3

Another journey towards the center of the Earth - discovering leads to new passages in the most decorated central Florida dry cave. The deep section at the end of S-sump has at least two deep passages. Tunnels started at 50' depth from the lake surface may connect to adjacent cave feature or even a new section. To explore further one would need a few scuba tanks for penetration and possibly even a decompression gas. Gas supply should be delivered thru several restrictions of a dry portion of the cave which is 1'-2' high. Perhaps some gear should be disassembled before a transit. The mentioned GPS coordinates are spoofed to protect a privacy of the landowner and to support conservation effort. Florida Cave Diving off-beaten path. B-cave, 2/3

Thank you for watching. You may also take a look at my trip photos: picasaweb.google.com www.flickr.com The southern section of B-cave starts with H-sump having a few underwater leads that were not yet followed due to a difficult access with scuba equipment to the sump via the dry part of the cave. The pathway only opens when local aquifer is drained. Air filled rooms of the sump reportedly may contain contaminated air which suggest its air isolation from the rest of a cave during the periods of when sump fill up completely. There is also a room where air flow lead is reported. For a cave diver however the most interesting are submerged leads that hopefully may bring a discovery of an unknown section. Some caves have public access. Most of caves are on private property. FSS does research there and the access is only granted for it, website: floridacaving.com More video than YT would accept no (for political reasons?): video.nedoma.ru

Florida caves-not just a scuba diving. If Little River dries out ...

Shouldn't it look like this one? I felt like I'm in Little River but walking instead of flying through a passage with hissing regulator in my mouth. In the cave shown to me by Citracaver it sounds and senses differently from what we experience during underwater scuba cave excursions. It also requires some other than cave diving gear - which unfortunately is not less expensive than a gear for underwater. There was no gold guideline down there either but there was stained by clay to "gold" color descend rope. We managed to use our DIY 50W HIDs xenon video divelights before they fried my polypropylene test-tubes. Being non-cooled by outboard water test tubes finally melted after 30 mins of burning but they completed the mission. GPS location is offset - there is no need for more vandalism than already happened in this cave. Lets give it a break. Cave is on a private property - seek permission first from Southeastern Cave Conservancy. My trips photos: www.flickr.com picasaweb.google.com

Scuba diving in Blue Springs cavern, Volusia, FL

Blue Spring, Volusia county, FL has a safe maximum depth of 120'. However extremely dangerous passage was explored by one of the cavediver.net moderators to a depth of 165'. Certified cavern diver relatively easy can dive it to 115' where the high flow restriction called Cork Rock prevents entering the actual cave. The room above the restriction is about 30' high and 20' wide. Open water divers cannot bring flash lights and they are limited to 70' depth. Blue Spring is closed for diving during the winter seasons when manatees enter the spring run. The quality of water deteriorated in 2007 when permit was issued to the housing development to pump water from the deep cave conduit upstream. Hence you see the green tint in the water that used to be a crystal blue. Despite a worse than years ago visibility it is still a good place for freediving and snorkeling. Blue Spring claimed a few victims of both scuba and freediving accidents however it is actually a very safe cavern for a visitor w/good judgement. For many new local scuba divers this spring is the first dive they conduct after certification on their own. Unless one decide to become a cave diver in a next few years of diving this spring actually dosn't help to develop useful skills for future Open Water Diver - the space for swimming is restricted and current is very strong. If I would give an advise it would be: watch your air carefully, do not try swim against current but rather get negative and rock-climb down, do ...

The Mill Pond Experience cave diving

The Mill Pond Experience explores three popular caves in Merritt's Mill pond located in Marianna Florida. This DVD won't just be following divers through a cave, or mounting a video camera atop a scooter. We show the cave from many angles and sequences. It's information and history about the surrounding area, including footage from these impressive systems! Different than Gainesville caves, Jackson Blue, Twin, and Hole in the Wall feature mostly white limestone, a plethora of fossils, cave salamanders, and plenty of cave to explore. We interviewed experts in the area to see what they have to say about diving these sites. "The Mill Pond Experience" DVD was mastered in High Definition and is in widescreen format.
