Thursday 15th Jan 09 I was waiting for my train at Liverpool Station, London....a guy starts dancing in the middle of the station! Then more and more people.. suddenly I was surrounded! Then I got dragged.. it was great.. I'd missed my train so I stayed for the next go (as they were doing it every 20 mins during the day) and had a proper go. Then finally I thought I'd video it. It's on tv tomorrow at 21:10 channel 4 for at mobile advert.. moto being 'lifes for sharing' and thats about all i know!! madness, but it made my day .. so weldone to them .. :)

We knew they were performing this dance, Mr H the compare knew they were performing this dance but none of the guests knew. Flash mob event on 6 Feb 2009 at Liverpool St Station in London. This was supposed to be a 15 minute long event where all attendees (over 10000 confirmed on facebook) brought their own iPods/Phones/MP3 players and danced with headphones on to whatever they chose. It turned into a 2 hour long riot where back-up police were called, everyone was kicked out, the station closed down, and horses, cars and rows of pigs lined the perimeter of Liverpool Station!!!! This is Ipswich's answer to the London Liverpool Street T-Mobile Dance! This is the final result of only three works of choreography and teaching from Oliver Brett and the participation of over 50 people whether they be camera men, dancers or organisers. The co-op juniors also played a part in helping with this event with some members and ex-members taking part, and using their rehearsal space to practice the dance. The final result will be used for my media coursework. Three weeks ago I was looking at a huge task of finding a capable choreographer and dance teacher who had a very short amount of time in which to do his work. I also had to find 5 willing camera men or women with enough experience to get good results and finally with a huge amount of help from Alan Ayers I managed to book the Town Hall in Ipswich Town Centre and the Town Square. On the 31st of December 2010 there assembled at Kincardine Castle a group of absurdly talented guests. The above video is but a mere snippet of the incandescent ability on display that night. This performance was the first of that night's eclectic mix of pieces to be heard, watched and cringed through. IT LOOKED like any other evening at Liverpool Street station, with thousands of commuters jostling to get home. But at 7.22pm, the station's concourse was turned into a dance floor by a flash mob of more than 200 people. The group of strangers, who had been mingling with commuters, suddenly burst into dance, to the bewilderment of onlookers. The participants, who had responded to an email telling them to arrive at the station with personal stereos, whooped and hollered as if perfectly in time with each other. They danced wildly, emitting cheers every so often. Commuters gathered on the side to watch in amusement. Some even joined in without music of their own. The event is the latest in the flash mob craze, which emerged in London for the first time two years ago. Other events have included a pillow fight of more than 100 strangers outside St Paul's Cathedral and a mass siege of a furniture store in Tottenham Court Road. Last night's event was linked to another flash mob in Madrid, where a crowd met at the same time for a pillow fight.

It was organised in about six hours on Facebook and Twitter and a flash mob of 5000 - 10000 people showed up. It was an awesome feelgood time and wont be forgotten quickly. On Friday 6th Feb 2009, thousands of people went to London Liverpool Street Station to take part in the dance-off associated with the recent T-Mobile ad campaign, these are the videos I shot as I was making my way through London for a night out.

At 6pm, a crowd of a couple of thousand people gathered outside Liverpool Street station in London. Rumours had be spreading through the afternoon about a mass moonwalk. In the end, 3 songs were played; Billie Jean, Thriller and Bad. And it was effing brilliant!
