FIRST BECAUSE YOU DON'T SEE MANY VW BUS AROUND, SECONDLY BECAUSE ITS IN PRISTINE CONDITION, THIRD, BECAUSE ITS A RARE CAMPER EDITION, AND FOURTH BECAUSE ITS AN ORIGINAL SURVIVOR. FEATURES INCLUDE SWIVEL FRONT SEATS, LUGGAGE RACK OVER THE CAB, A FUNCTIONING GAS STOVE, REFRIGERATOR, KITCHEN TABLE, STORAGE, POP-UP CAMPER TOP THAT SLEEPS TWO, A FOLD OUT FUTON THAT SLEEPS ANOTHER TWO, A CHILD'S HAMMOCK, AND A ROLL-OUT AWNING, IDEAL FOR SITTING OUTSIDE IN THE SHADE. We went to Cardiff to get an exclusive look at the new VW Doubleback T5 California camper van to see how it shapes up as a means of carrying our bikes around and as a living space for relaxing post ride. Sold as a new T5 van, the Doubleback increases available space by nearly two meters when fully extended and allows for weights of up to 400 Kgs to be carried. The back extends electronically at the push of a button. You can carry 4 bikes in the back, and there's plenty of room for surf, ski or other outdoor kit. This bus is in great shape for it's age. It has a new motor with dual carbs with about 1000 miles on it. This bus has been stored inside for at least the last 10 years. I finished this Lego VW Camper with some modifications to make it a real cool piece. It involves the adding of the steering to the front wheels, lifting up the wheel setting to make it more realistic and also the repaint of the silver to more chrome effect.
