This song is from the original album recorded in 1963. It has the spoken intro by Ray introducing one of the very first country "theme albums". Note that he mentions that the song was written by a boy down TEXAS WAY. That boy was the then unknown Willie Nelson who later became a member of Ray's band. The great Buddy Emmons is on the steel guitar.

Los Angeles Day & Night Life [HD]
The amazing beauty of LA's night life and day that includes downtown LA, Staples Center, Nokia Plaza, the Los Angeles Lakers, Pau Gasol, Santa Monica Beach, Americana, The Grove, Universal City Walk, Six Flags Magic Mountain in Santa Clarita and some celebrities. I missed the grand opening of Santa Monica Place, darn it. While making this vid, I ran out of clips and realized 15 minutes is really long for non-business so I added a clip of my performance in a family reunion and still came up with only 13 minutes. If you have an interesting HD video that you would like to share with everyone you can send it to me for compilation. I'll be happy to publish it in YouTube but of course I reserve the right to edit it for clarity and moderation.

This was 1986 ... Gary Hogue & Junior Knight ... I recently found out from a friend that while Gary had my original video of this session in his possession, he had combined my video with a tape that was also shot by Jack & Phyllis Perkins, but he accidentally recorded over mine, so my tape ended up becoming a "hybrid" of both videos. I'm not sure which songs on my tape are the ones I shot or the ones that the Perkins shot (we were both video taping from very similar angles). Regardless of which one of us shot this particular song, I hope you enjoy the playing of these two great steel guitarists.
