Shit Beverly Hills Persian Girls Say - Please Subscribe!!!

I loved the Persian culture since childhood. The accent was literally something I was born to do... Growing up in a Persian community in Los Angeles, we made "Shit Persian Girls Say," to encompass the phenomenon that is Persian girls in Beverly Hills. We aimed to produce our masterpiece in regard to the culture of designer clothing, food and the language of Persian girls. We would like to send out a gracious thanks to every Persian girl we know, and for being so true to themselves that we were able to borrow a piece of each and every one of them in order to develop this video that hopefully captures all that is Persian. No Persians were harmed or insulted while making this video. These are all fictional characters and loosely based on our Persian friends. Stay tuned for episode 2, after we go viral.

BBC - In the footsteps of Alexander (Persian Gates) 12

In the footsteps of Alexander the Great The Battle of the Persian Gate was a military conflict between the Achaemenid Empire and Alexander the Great at the Persian Gates. The Achaemenid army was commanded by the satrap of Persis, Ariobarzanes and the invading Macedonian army was commanded by Alexander the Great. In the winter of 330 BC, Ariobarzanes led a last stand of the Persian forces[4][5] against Alexander's forces and successfully held the Macedonian army at bay for 30 days.[6] Alexander eventually found a path to the rear of the Persian army from the captured prisoners of war. The Persian Gate was only a couple of meters wide at the point of ambush. Once the Macedonian army had advanced sufficiently into the narrow pass, the Persians rained down boulders on them from the northern slopes. From the southern slope, Persian archers and catapults launched their projectiles. Alexander's army initially suffered heavy casualties, losing entire platoons at a time.[9] The Macedonians attempted to withdraw, but the terrain and their still-advancing rear guard made an orderly retreat impossible. Alexander was forced to leave his dead behind to save the rest of his army—a great mark of disgrace to the Greeks and Macedonians who valued highly the recovery and proper burial of their fallen.[10] Ariobarzanes had some reason to believe that success here could change the course of the war. Preventing Alexander's passage through the Persian Gates would force the Macedonian army to ...

Oh and sorry for any real persians out there who know this song, or who dont quite understand the words I'm saying cause it sounds like I'm just making up words at times... Response from Persian King To: Omar, "Khalifat of Islam Army".

Iranian Please read this book in Persian in PDF format: دو قرن سکوت dl.parsbook.org letter from Yazdgird 3(632 AD - 651 AD) The date in which this letter has been written is after the Battle of Ghadesiyeh. As you know, a natural disaster, a massive sand storm blown on Persian troops & practically blinded them & took their battle vision. the sand storm directly blown on their front & caused the loss of this battle. Later on Muslim Khalif mentioned that Allah sent the massive Sand Storm in Persian Faces, so they lost the battle, Allah was the protector of Muslim against Ajams (what Arabs call Persians). Battle of Ghadesiyeh did not just cost us a great loss due to a natural disaster, yet it also cost us the life of our greatest Persian Hero, Commander in Chief of Persian Army, General Arteshbod "Rostam-e Farokhzad." Tazis killed Rostam in this battle. Rostam & his squad fought until the last drop of their blood & at the end even after he lost his sword, he fought Arabs with bare hand & his shield, Rostam & his selected squad killed as many Tazi as they could, yet finally it was destiny for our hero to die for Iran. Tazi savages rushed & attacked him in all directions & killed that great Persian soul, Ahura Bless his soul, Rostam was the symbol of Persian Empire & Iranian Glory. Battle of al-Qādisiyyah : The first day of Battle ended with Persian advances and the Arab force appeared as though it would succumb to the much larger Sassanid army. Persian-Roman Encounters under the Parthians and Sassanids

Now Available on iTunes and Amazon.com mp3: "Parthian Wedding Dance" www.amazon.com itunes.apple.com This is a video with music by Sepehr, titled "Parthian Wedding Dance" which explores the Persian-Roman encounters during the Parthian and Sassanid Persian Dynasties that ruled in present day Iran. Ruling from 247 BC to 228 AD in ancient Persia, the Parthians defeated Alexander of Macedonia's successors, the Seleucids, conquered most of the Middle East and southwest Asia and built Parthia into the Eastern superpower. The use of the bow as a weapon made the Parthians an effective military force. The Parthians were greatly feared by the Romans. They were, in fact, the only combatants in ancient times able to destroy an entire Roman legion at the height of its power (they wiped out the army of Crassus, the Roman general who had earlier crushed the Spartacus slave rebellion). While Rome was able to recover from its disaster at Cannae(their defeat by Hannibal of Carthage), it never did retrieve the results of Carrhae, the defeat by the Parthians, that sealed the East as an impenetrable barrier to Roman ambition, and also signaled the demise of the Republic. The Parthian shot was a military tactic made famous by the Parthians. The Parthian archers, mounted on light horse, would feign retreat; then, while at a full gallop, turn their bodies back to shoot at the pursuing enemy. The maneuver required superb equestrian skills, since the rider's hands were occupied by his bow. As the ...

Persian Empire/Civilization Iran Inventions History

Persian Empire/Civilization Iran Inventions Darius The Great Cyrus The Great The Achaemenid Empire (ca. 550--330 BCE), also known as the Persian Empire, was the successor state of the Median Empire, ruling over significant portions of what would become Greater Iran. The Persian and the Median Empire taken together are also known as the Medo-Persian Empire, which encompassed the combined territories of several earlier empires. At the height of its power, the empire encompassed approximately 8 million km2. The empire was forged by Cyrus the Great, and spanned three continents: Asia, Africa and Europe. At its greatest extent, the empire included the territories of Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and the territories of northern India, parts of Central Asia, Asia Minor, Thrace and Macedonia, much of the Black Sea coastal regions, Iraq, northern Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, and all significant population centers of ancient Egypt as far west as Libya. It is noted in western history as the foe of the Greek city states during the Greco-Persian Wars, for emancipation of slaves including the Jews from their Babylonian Babylonian captivity, and for instituting the usage of official languages throughout its territories. In universal history the role of the Persian empire founded by Cyrus the Great lies in their very successful model for centralized administration and a government working to the advantage and profit of all. Battle of Edessa [Persians VS Romans]

If you enjoyed the video please rate/comment/subscribe thank you! MOD USED: Invasio Barbarorum The Battle of Edessa took place between the armies of the Roman Empire under the command of Emperor Valerian and Sassanid forces under Shahanshah (King of the Kings) Shapur I in 259. In this battle, the Sassanids crushed the entire Roman army, while suffering minimal losses. Prior to the battle, Shapur I had penetrated several times deeply into Roman territory conquering and plundering Antiochia in Syria in 253 or 256. In order to halt these advances and retaliate, Emperor Valerian gathered an army, which included the Roman Praetorian Guard, and marched eastward to the Sassanid borders. He succeeded initially and recaptured Syrian provinces. He then marched to Carrhae and Edessa where he met the main Persian army under command of the King Shapur I. After minor skirmishing with the Persian forces, the main battle commenced. Shapur I defeated and captured Emperor Valerian, along with many other high ranking officials, though not much is known about the battle itself. The outcome of the battle was an overwhelming Persian victory, with the entire 70000-strong Roman force being slain or captured. This compared starkly to the minimal number of Persian casualties. Some scholars claim Shapur sent Valerian and some of his army to the city of Bishapur, where they lived in relatively good condition. Shapur used the remaining soldiers in engineering and development plans. Band-e Kaisar ...

Ling Pei is a student of the University of Warwick in "Applied linguistics". Although her major subject is teaching English language she is so keen to learn other widely spoken languages such as Japanese, Cantonese and Persian. It is interesting to know that she is from Malaysia, a multi-cultural country in South East Asia, and it means that she has grown up among other races such as Malays and Indians who have different cultures and languages. In the other hand, as we Persians (Iranians) are really eager to promote our cultural values, I tried to introduce her some Iranian cuisines and music beside some useful Persian words. And the video you are watching is the result of nine month friendship and sharing things from two rich cultures.

Iranian/Persian Civilization - Parthian Empire - Part 1/3

So you think you know everything about the Romans? They gave us sophisticated road systems, chariots and the modern-day calendar. And of course they had to contend with barbarian hordes who continually threatened the peace, safety and prosperity of their Empire. Didn't they? Terry Jones takes a completely fresh approach to Roman history. Not only does it offer us the chance to see the Romans from a non-Roman perspective, it also reveals that most of the people written off by the Romans as uncivilized, savage and barbaric were in fact organized, motivated and intelligent groups of people, with no intentions of overthrowing Rome and plundering its Empire. This is the true story of Roman history as seen by the Persians.

Persian History: Achaemenid Empire, The Largest empire in ancient history

In this video you will learn about the Persian history, Kings, Wars and Constructions. The Persian Empire was the largest empire by geographical extent in ancient times at the height of its power, the empire encompassed approximately 8 million km2. The empire was forged by Cyrus the Great, and spanned three continents: Asia, Africa and Europe. At its greatest extent, the empire included the modern territories of Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, parts of Central Asia, Asia Minor, Thrace and Macedonia, much of the Black Sea coastal regions, Iraq, northern Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, and all significant population centers of ancient Egypt as far west as Libya. It is noted in western history as the foe of the Greek city states during the Greco-Persian Wars, for emancipation of slaves including the Jews from their Babylonian captivity, and for instituting the usage of official languages throughout its territories. The empire had a centralised, bureaucratic administration under the Emperor and a permanent large army and civil service, inspiring similar developments in later empires. The Achaemenid Persian empire was invaded by Alexander III of Macedon, after which it collapsed and disintegrated in 330 BC into what later became the Ptolemaic Kingdom and Seleucid Empire, in addition to other minor territories which gained independence at that time. Iranian rule was re-established in the region starting from the rise of Arsacids in middle of 3rd century BCE. For the ...

0 AD Alpha 8 Haxāmaniš :: The Persians

The 8th Alpha for 0 AD is now released. Download today @ www.play0ad.com Why "Haxāmaniš"? We name our releases according to development status ("Alpha" or "Beta"), successive release number (1, 2, 3, ...) and a word relating to the ancient world, in alphabetical order ("Argonaut" for A, "Bellerophon" for B, ...). In honor of the release of the Persian faction, we decided to dub Alpha 8 "Haxāmaniš". Haxāmaniš is the Old Persian name for Achaemenes, the legendary founder of the Achaemenid dynasty, a family which included rulers such as Cyrus II, Darius I and Xerxes I. Haxāmaniš was himself a minor seventh century ruler of the Anshan (Ansham or Anšān) located in southwestern Iran. Nobody is quite sure if Haxāmaniš existed, little is known about him and the little known is peppered with myth. (Ancient Greek writers say that he was "raised by an eagle".) Nevertheless, he remains an figure often mentioned in Persian history. Nobody knows for sure how Haxāmaniš was pronounced in Old Persian, but it is probably something like hah-xāh-mah-neesh, where all the a's are as in "father", and the a with the macron (ā) is longer. X is the voiceless velar fricative, as in ugh, loch, or Chanukah. The stress is uncertain; If it were as in Sanskrit, it would have been on the last syllable (hah-xāh-mah-NEESH). (Thanks, Thamar E. Gindin, Ph.D., expert on Iran!) For the next alpha, we welcome fan suggestions for words relating to the ancient world beginning with the letter G. Keep it original ...

Iranian/Persian Civilization - Parthian Empire - Part 2/3
