Pioneer has already released a feature video on it's Serato counterpart the DDJ-S1, and now here's your chance to get up close and personal with the four channel Traktor design. It looks as though it really does emulate the feel of a Pioneer CDJ, with similar button style and layout, while at the same time manifesting specific functions of Traktor into it's a layout with the Effects and Fliter knobs. The layout of the mixer looks extremely intuitive and I'd expect no less from Pioneer. Cueing and assigning effects to the channels is clearly indicated by the light up buttons and the "master" and "sync" buttons look particularly useful when keeping track of your sync function in Traktor. Overall not that far off from playing on a pair of Pioneer CDJ-2000's and a DJM-800. You'll miss your built in effects if you're used to having them on the mixer but if you're a serious Traktor user already or looking to dive in deeper this could get you there in a more compact and portable unit.

The music for this piece was recorded on June 13, 1983 in celebration of the fact that Pioneer 10 was leaving our solar system that day, headed for interstellar space. This was the first time we had reached that far. I've coupled this with a video adaptation of the official NASA artwork created by Don Davis. The image is courtesy NASA. New DJM-2000 firmware adds Quantize function and improved beat effects Download the update at pioneer.jp www.pioneer.eu www.pioneer.com.au Quantize function With the addition of the Quantize function, beat effects will be automatically corrected to play on-beat when used on tracks analyzed by and exported from rekordbox. You can obtain beat position and BPM information for songs from any PRO DJ LINK compatible CDJ by connecting the player to your DJM-2000 via LAN cable. Then, even if you miss the input timing for an effect while you are DJing, the effect will be adjusted automatically to the analyzed beat position, allowing you to apply effects on-beat with 100% accuracy. Effect improvements The REVERB BEAT EFFECT has been updated: besides the length of the reverb, you can now also adjust the openness of the simulated space at the same time. The adjustment range for the NOISE INST FX has been broadened to increase the maximum output volume for this effect. This allows you to add sufficient noise, even to songs that are at a high volume. The maximum volume of the OSCILLATOR and SAMPLE in sidechain remox has also been increased as well. To allow DJs to turn the FILTER effect on and off smoothly, we have changed the effect so that when you turn the level knob for it all the way to the left, the FILTER function turns off and only the source audio is output.
