Classic Game Room HD reviews GUITAR HERO VAN HALEN for Xbox 360, also on Playstation 3 PS3, Nintendo Wii and the venerable PS2. Play with the band or just guitar and bass, Guitar Hero Van Halen may not be the best Guitar Hero as of late but it still packs about 2 dozen early Van Halen tracks and numerous other songs. Play as Van Halen with short hair and a new bass player (Wolfgang!) or rock out in spandex with David Lee Roth, Alex and Eddie and Wolfgang Van Halen! Yes, I'm missing Sammy Hagar and Michael Anothony, as well as the chance to relive the 80's as Van Halen, but the game is playable and fun. It lacks the polish of Guitar Hero Metallica and the storyline of Guitar Hero Aerosmith, and in many ways falls flat where it could have really exploded off the screen with 80's MTV awesomeness. It's no surprise that the game was available as a freebie with Guitar Hero 5 but that doesn't mean it's a bad game, it just comes off as sub par compared to the other excellent Guitar Hero releases. Classic Game Room reviews HOMEFRONT for PS3 Playstation 3 from THQ and Kaos, a first person shooter that remakes the storyline in Red Dawn except with new bad guys and less Charlie Sheen. This first person shooter feels like an amped up version of Call of Duty Modern Warfare or Black Ops which gives it a Black (the PS2 game) style with ultra-powerful weapons and an unstoppable arsenal at your disposal whenever you need it. The single player campaign finishes too short, just as the game starts getting good. Multiplayer may appeal to some multiplayer shooter fans with concepts like in game battle points spent on tanks and helicopters, but it's pretty much more of the same when you get down to it. Classic Game Room reviews the SNK Neo-Geo Pocket Color handheld game console from 1999! This sequel to the black and white NeoGeo Pocket had color and higher hopes but still failed to gain a foothold against the Nintendo Game Boy and Sega Game Gear. Lack of a backlit screen and small software library kept the SNK Neo Geo Pocket Color to a niche market, but that doesn't mean it isn't awesome. The Neo-Geo Pocket Color is a 16-bit hand held videogame console with games like Samurai Shodown and Gals Fighters that have a catchy cartoony look and awesome gameplay. It has a thumbstick instead of a D-pad and two buttons. Because of the non-backlit screen the Neo Geo Pocket has excellent battery life. Its design is pleasing and the SNK NeoGeo Pocket Color has a handy portable size which fits your hands well and makes gameplay comfortable.
