See annotations for more info! The new Acer travelmate series (2011) don't have a memory compartment. Instead of that, everything is accessible by removing the back cover. All screws are the same, except for the ones at the battery compartment. This video tut probably applies to more travel mate models, at least for the 5700 series.

Acer Travelmate 5530 screen flickering
Yes... yes and yes! I was able to fix this issue about a month ago by opening my laptop and removing the cable from panel to reset it.. but it seems this awful behavior just came back to tear my ass apart. I'm really disappointed about Acer's work and why they cannot tell the truth? I bought my (Aspire 5530g) laptop 1,5 years ago and used it for a while until it totally broke and was nearly 3 months in their hands, I waited and got my laptop and I found another problems so I had to send it back, after it came back, there were another bunch of unrepairable problems waiting for me so I just had to sent it back. They offered me a brand new laptop which is this Travelmate 5530.. months passed and this problem came to my life and it has been bugging me for a really long time. So my conclusion goes like this: Acer cannot fix your problems because they ignores you = you have to fix your own problems = breaks warranty and there might be another problems ahead.
